Do Apartment Gardens Exist?

You may have come across the term “apartment gardens” in passing somewhere and wondered what they were. It sounds a bit strange, does it not? After all, aren’t apartment gardens just patches of lawn that have been set up for the sole purpose of providing a lush green area for people to relax and sit down in the middle of the night or some other time when the sun isn’t out? Well, no, apartment gardening actually is quite that simple.

In truth apartment gardens are pretty much exactly the same as any other type of garden you’d find outside of the home. The basic principles are the same though. Basically you have to start with a fairly small plot of land, a small soil area, and plant a bunch of tiny trees and shrubs into the ground. The idea is that you will be adding some sort of structure to your apartment that will add some sort of shade to the plants during the day and shade the plants at night.

Of course this adds an additional maintenance cost, but it’s well worth it to get that structure working. Then, depending on how you’re going to use the structure, you can either put a small hatchway or door on it and only allow certain species of plants in or only certain types. Usually this means plants such as lilies or certain fruit trees like pears or apples. Of course, you can’t do this if you don’t have any hatchway or doors built into the structure itself. These little doors and hatchways are actually made from metal. Of course, if you want to save some money you can just leave them open for the seasons.

Now, you need to consider where these plants will go during the day. Some areas of your apartment you may not have direct sunlight into your apartment. In those areas you might plant some shade-tolerant plants such as fruit trees or even perennials. These plants will grow just fine regardless of what the sun does. If you do get direct sunlight, then you’ll need to make sure that the plants you chose will ‘get’ the sunlight.

The other consideration is the area you have for the garden. It’s likely that there won’t be a whole lot of room. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to use up the entire wall by placing some plants on each side of the door or by putting up a screen door. If you have any large plants that spread widely, you’ll need to place them someplace where they won’t crowd the other plants. You can also try to plant some of your flowering plants to the back or sides of the apartment unit.

So what kinds of apartment gardens are there? Well, there are many different types of garden design ideas. Many apartment dwellers choose to use container gardening. This means that they grow plants in large containers. This is a great way to save space and to save money.

If you’re going with container plants, you’ll want to pick plants that don’t need much maintenance and don’t require a great deal of sunlight. For instance, if you’re going with plants like lavender or something similar, you’ll be able to just put it in the ground and water it once a week or so. If you’re choosing taller plants, like arbor bells or other flowering plants, you’ll need to provide them with a bit more light and shade. Most of these apartment plants come with matching pots, and they’re usually placed on the kitchen windowsill or dining room windowsill. If you have a balcony, you could use a pot on the balcony table.

Another type of apartment garden design is using a trellis system. This is just like a real terrace, only it’s built into the wall. This is a very easy and inexpensive way to add some extra living space. There are many different designs you can do with this type of gardening, so there is a lot for you to choose from. Just be sure to think carefully about how much light your apartment gets, and about where the plants will be placed. Usually, if you do apartment gardens, you’ll have more flexibility with the plants and less with the lighting.
