If you are one of those people that enjoys the look and feel of a rose garden, but would like to be able to grow their own, than dwarf knockout rose bushes may be right for you. They are not as thick or as majestic looking as other types of roses, but they still pack quite a punch in a small space. The main difference is in size, in stature they are a couple of inches taller than a regular rose bush. And they are perfect for growing in window boxes, in small balconies and anywhere you want to have a nice little rose garden. You will be amazed at how fast these grow, the majority will bloom within eight to ten weeks. If you are going to plant them yourself, there are a few things you will need to know before you begin.

You can use either dwarf jpeg or frost free jpeg bulbs, but I suggest the frost free ones simply because you will have less problems with pests and other insects if your plants are not in the winter. Your choice of plant will also determine the amount of sun they require, there are two different choices, you can choose regular hardy roses or seedless roses. Regular hardy roses require nine hours of light per day, while seedless roses only need six. The amount of sun will also affect the color of your garden, regular roses tend to be darker in color due to their higher level of sunlight. The dwarf jpeg will provide you with a nice compromise, it can be planted anywhere in your garden and they will do fine even in the worst of weather conditions. Just make sure they are planted in a sunny spot during the day and protected from frost by putting them in a container of water.

Care for the Plants: For the first month, I would advise that you use an organic fertilizer and spread it around your bushes. The bushes will absorb it, and the roots will soak up some nutrients from the fertilizer. When the plants start to show signs of having a new growth, water them generously, but do not drown them. When the soil is dry, lightly water the plants again using the hose. You should keep on watering them but do not get them too wet. By following these simple steps, your dwarf knockout rose bushes will thrive and blossom beautifully.

After the first month, I would advise using some of the other dwarf garden designs that are available to make your plantings look just as if you had purchased them at a tree center. Use a trellis system to hang baskets of soil. You can also purchase pots with a built in trellis system. I find the dwarf variety of this type is a great addition to any yard. The leaves are very nice with a trellis system, and the flowers are quite lovely with pots or hanging baskets.

As for the soil, you will want to use an organic and natural soil mix. If you have planted a regular yard garden, then you probably already know the types of soil and how to add it. However, with a per tree, you will want to use a soil that is slightly acidic in order to help it retain moisture, while keeping the roots from hardening. This is necessary if you want to be able to keep the roots from hardening and turning to oak wood. You may also choose to use a soil that is a little bit loamy when you are planting your knockout roses care so they will not take as long to settle in and establish themselves.

In summary, by following some very simple steps, you can get your trunk to grow into a very nice looking fruit tree.
